Publication Ethics and Standards
JGRC upholds the highest standards of publication ethics, ensuring rigorous, fair, and transparent peer review for all submissions in plant genetics and crop research.
All research manuscripts undergo rigorous single-blind peer review. Qualified reviewers with relevant expertise evaluate scientific merit, methodology, data presentation, and significance. Editors make final decisions based on reviewer recommendations while maintaining editorial independence.
- Submit original work not published elsewhere or under consideration at other journals
- Ensure all listed authors contributed substantially and approve the manuscript
- Disclose funding sources, conflicts of interest, and competing interests
- Provide accurate data and maintain records supporting reproducibility
- Obtain necessary permissions for third-party content
- Respond promptly and thoroughly to reviewer and editor communications
Plagiarism Policy
All submissions undergo plagiarism screening. Substantial overlap with prior work leads to rejection.
Data Integrity
Authors must ensure data accuracy and provide access to underlying data upon request.
Conflict of Interest
Financial and non-financial interests potentially influencing research must be disclosed.
Corrections Policy
Errors discovered post-publication are addressed through corrections or retractions.
COPE Principles: JGRC follows Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) guidelines for handling ethical concerns and misconduct allegations.

- Decline reviews outside area of expertise or involving conflicts
- Report suspected misconduct to editors
Authors who believe their submitted manuscript received an unfair evaluation may request reconsideration. Appeals should be submitted in writing to the editorial office within 30 days of the decision, providing specific arguments and evidence supporting the request. Appeals are evaluated by editorial staff not involved in the original decision.
