Polymer Processing

Polymer processing is the process of converting synthetic or natural polymers into useful materials by manipulation of their molecular structure to improve their properties for a specific application. This includes melting, solid-state processing, and solution processing of polymers. This process is significant for a variety of industries, including the automotive, food packaging, and medical industries. Polymers are created from chemicals and manipulated to form other substances that can be used for a variety of purposes, including manufacturing components, insulation materials, and protective coatings. Polymers can also be processed to generate materials such as plastics, rubber, and composites. These materials can be used to produce a variety of products, such as medical devices, automotive parts, and food packaging.
