Actin Polymerization

Actin polymerization is a process in which individual actin monomers join together to form a long polymer. It is an important process in the movement of cells and other processes in biology, such as cell shape and tissue formation. Actin polymerization is also used in biotechnological applications, such as in drug delivery, scaffolding and microfluidic devices. By understanding this process, scientists are able to create more efficient treatments and materials.
