Journal of Cancer Genetics and Biomarkers

Special issues

Themed collections are considered on a rolling basis when their scope, editorial leadership, and publication plan can be confirmed. This page lists only calls that have been verified for JCGB.

How a special issue is listed

A public call should make it possible for authors to verify the topic, editorial responsibility, submission route, and schedule before they decide to contribute.

01

Scope review

The proposed theme must be clearly connected to cancer genetics, genomics, molecular oncology, or biomarker science.

02

Editorial verification

Any proposed guest-editor role must be confirmed before a person or institution is presented on a public call.

03

Public call

Only after the topic, editorial leadership, and timing are confirmed should JCGB publish a call for submissions.

Propose a theme with a clear scholarly case

A concise proposal helps the editorial office assess subject fit and publication integrity before any collection is announced.

Theme

Define the scientific question

Describe the cancer-genetics or biomarker question the collection would address, why a thematic collection is useful, and the intended research community.

Evidence

Set a credible scope

Outline the kinds of evidence and study designs that would fit. Avoid claims of clinical utility or translational impact that a future collection cannot yet substantiate.

Editorial role

Identify proposed editorial leadership carefully

If you suggest guest editors, include their current affiliation, relevant expertise, and confirmation of interest. A proposal is not an appointment and does not create a public editorial role.

Integrity

Plan for independent review

Special-issue submissions remain subject to the journal’s editorial policies, conflict-of-interest safeguards, and peer-review expectations.

  • Use one manuscript submission route: ManuscriptZone.
  • Do not make unsupported promises about editorial timing, fees, acceptance outcomes, or promotional reach.
  • Confirm conflicts of interest and appropriate diversity considerations in the proposal.

For authors looking for a current call

There is no verified special-issue deadline to select at present. Authors whose work fits JCGB’s scope may submit through ManuscriptZone as a regular manuscript and should follow the Author Instructions. Do not label a manuscript for a special issue unless JCGB has published a confirmed call.

Have a well-defined special-issue concept?

Send a concise theme proposal to the JCGB editorial office. The team can assess whether it fits the journal before any public call is considered.
