JARH publication costs
Article processing charges
Clear, up-front information about the charge for an accepted JARH article and the publishing services it supports.
The APC is separate from editorial assessment: payment does not influence peer review, editorial decisions, or acceptance.
USD $2,100 standard APC · requested after acceptance · CC BY 4.0
The standard JARH APC
The charge is presented before submission so authors and funders can make an informed decision. It is applied to accepted manuscripts, not to a submission or editorial decision.
When payment is requested
APC payment is requested only after a manuscript is accepted. The editorial office provides payment details and invoice options after that editorial outcome.
Publishing services
What the charge supports
The APC supports the open-access publishing workflow. It does not purchase a review outcome, acceptance, a timetable, or a particular form of discovery coverage.

- Production and presentationCopyediting, formatting, proof preparation, and publication production.
- Scholarly recordDOI registration and structured article metadata to support citation and linking.

Payment follows the editorial outcome
Use the sequence below to distinguish editorial assessment from payment and publication preparation.
Editorial outcome
Editorial assessment and peer review are based on scholarly merit, ethics, and scope. Payment does not influence an editorial decision.
Accepted manuscript
After acceptance, the editorial office provides APC details, invoice options, and payment instructions.
Payment confirmation
The paying author, institution, or funder receives the relevant payment information and a receipt after confirmation.
Publication preparation
Production proceeds once APC requirements are complete, alongside the required licensing and final publication checks.
Open access terms
Rights remain clear after publication
JARH articles are published under CC BY 4.0 and authors retain copyright. Invoices are issued in USD; any applicable taxes or bank charges are the responsibility of the paying author or institution.
Before you submit
Confirm scope fit, author requirements, and the manuscript record before beginning submission. Use your accepted-manuscript correspondence for invoice or payment instructions.
Payment information in context
Payment instructions and invoice options are provided after the editorial outcome. Where an institution or funder will pay on an author’s behalf, use the payment documentation supplied with the accepted-manuscript correspondence.
