Overview
Head and Neck surgery is a medical specialty concerned with the diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of medical disorders of the head and neck. This specialty encompasses a range of procedures, including corrective and reconstructive surgeries, removal of tumors, benign or malignant, and treatment of associated conditions such as hearing loss, sinus and voice disorders. The head and neck surgeon may also take part in plastic and cosmetic reconstructive surgery to restore function and form following trauma or injury, as well as facial reconstruction following surgery. This specialty plays an important role in the early diagnosis and treatment of serious conditions such as head and neck cancer and is vital for restoring function and quality of life for both adults and children.
